Who would have thought that I would become totally in love with goats? I took my camera to the barn this morning and took some snapshots of my herd queen Missy (BTR Mystique). While she has always been special in my eyes, it was last year at the Arkansas show that she won Grand Champion. I still remember what the judge said, “I always wrap my hand around the front leg biceps. This is the first doe in my judging career where my fingers do not touch – amazing muscles.” Last fall, I bred her to Hillside Acres Pretty Special, a Permanent Grand Champion buck. Missy had twins, a boy and girl. Her daughter, Magnolia, is “a chip off the old block” and will probably be queen someday. I can’t get over how much they look alike.
